What we aim for

This site targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That is not a badge we are claiming. It is the standard the build was measured against, and the specific things it required are listed below so you can check them yourself.

What that meant in practice

  • Contrast. Every text and background pair used on the site had its contrast ratio calculated rather than judged by eye. Body text meets or exceeds 4.5:1 and large text 3:1, on both the light and the dark sections.
  • Keyboard. Everything that can be clicked can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone. Focus outlines are never removed, and they are tuned separately for light and dark backgrounds so they stay visible on both.
  • Touch targets. Interactive controls are at least 48 pixels high, above the 44-pixel minimum, and spaced so neighboring controls are hard to hit by accident.
  • Forms. Every field has a visible label, not just placeholder text. Errors appear next to the field they belong to, are announced to screen readers, and focus moves to the first problem on a failed submit.
  • Motion. If your system is set to reduce motion, the entrance animations do not run at all. Content is never hidden behind an animation that has to finish before you can read it.
  • Structure. Headings run in order without skipping levels, landmarks are marked up properly, and there is a skip link to jump straight past the navigation.
  • Images. Photographs have descriptive alternative text explaining what is actually in the picture. Decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers rather than read out as noise.
  • Zoom. Pinch-zoom is not disabled, and the layout holds together at 200% without content being cut off or requiring sideways scrolling.

Known limits

Automated tools catch only part of what matters. This site has been checked with automated accessibility testing and by keyboard, but it has not been tested by people who use screen readers or other assistive technology daily. If something here does not work the way it should, we would genuinely rather hear about it than not know.
