Who We Are

Built on doing the unglamorous part properly.

Restoration work is mostly invisible. Nobody photographs the containment barrier or the moisture log, and no customer ever sees the inside of a wall cavity after it has been put back. That is exactly why it is so easy to cut corners in this trade, and why the corners that get cut never show up until months later.

We do the invisible part properly. Containment goes up before anything is disturbed. Drying continues until the readings say the structure is dry, not until the equipment has done an arbitrary three days. Material that cannot be saved comes out instead of being painted over.

Qualified for the work, not just willing to do it

Elite holds IICRC WRT, which stands for Water Damage Restoration Technician, from the industry standard body for this trade. A good deal of the competition holds nothing at all, because nothing stops someone buying a dehumidifier and calling themselves a restoration company.

The owner is also an AHERA-accredited asbestos building inspector. That is a specific thing, and worth being precise about: it means he is legally accredited to survey a building for asbestos, take samples and issue a written report. Taking even a single sample without that accreditation is not permitted.

It matters most on demolition. Federal rules require a proper asbestos inspection before most demolition and renovation work, and a visual once-over does not satisfy them. Most contractors have to stop and hire an outside inspector before they can swing a hammer. We do not. What we do not do is remove asbestos once it is found. That is a separate licensed trade, and we refer it rather than touch it.

A sole proprietorship, and what that means for you

Elite Home Industries is a sole proprietorship. In practice that means there is no layer between you and the person responsible: the owner quotes the job, does the work, and carries the consequences personally if it is done badly. There is nobody to hide behind, and that is rather the point.

It also means we carry general liability cover but not workers' compensation, because a sole proprietor working alone is exempt from it in Idaho. General liability is the policy that protects you: it covers damage to your property. We would rather explain that plainly than let the word "insured" do work it has not earned.

Where we work

Idaho. Not a list of states we could get to if somebody paid the mileage, but the one place we actually work and actually know. The freeze-thaw cycle splits supply lines in unheated crawlspaces, ground moisture rises through vented floors, and poor grading sends runoff straight back at the foundation. Those three things account for most of what we get called out to.
